Introduction
I have always known that the name Huele found its origin in a writing error of a public servant. My grandmother told me that in the past the spelling of Heule changed therefore into Huele. However, Heule itself was also a "writing error": the Dutch version of the German Höhle, both pronounced exactly the same. Johan van der Steen and Bert Truijens provided me with this information and with a history of the family dating back to the beginning of the 17th century, starting in Immighausen in Germany. Thanks to them we now have a family history of almost 400 years!
Progress of the investigation:
18/04/2006: 228 persons, of which 202 with the name Höhle/Heule(n)/Huele.
12/11/2012: 235 persons, of which 209 with the name Höhle/Heule(n)/Huele.
24/01/2018: 362 persons, of which 288 with the name Höhle/Heule(n)/Huele.
17/12/2020: 520 persons, of which 346 with the name Höhle/Heule(n)/Huele.
