He (1) publishes the bans on 15 May 1762 (scan) in Monnickendam () and gets married in church on 30 May 1762 (scan) in Monnickendam () (circa 41 years old) to Antje Sibelts Keijser, born between 1729 and 1744 in Nesse ), buried on 11 February 1775 (scan) in Monnickendam (), daughter of N.N. Keijser.

Facts and remarks (chronological):

› On 15 December 2006, for the first time in over 20 years, I have found a new note about our oldest forefather. The Book of Resolutions of Ilpendam states on 23 March 1762: "Christoffel Meijer from Hanover has asked permission to live here as a civilian, has been refused."
Though we only cover another 11 days back in time, it gives us something interesting. For the first time, a place is mentioned that could be the place where Christoffel is born. However; Hannover is not only a city, those days, but a rather large district as well.
The above must be read with some reservation. The name "Christoffel Meijer" is mentioned more than once in Ilpendam, Purmerend and Monnickendam, and I am sure our forefather was not the only one carrying that name. But the fact that only 11 days after the rejection of his citizenship of Ilpendam, a person (our forefather) with the same name tries - and now succesfully - the same in Monnickendam, is quite coincidential. Until proven otherwise, I assume that both persons are one and the same person: "our" Christoffel!
› The minutes of the meeting of the mayor and aldermen of Monnickendam state that on 3 April 1762 Christoffel Meijer "coming from the Purmer" has been granted the right to to live in Overleek (part of Monnickendam), "provided that he pays for his civil rights".
› On 12 July 1787 Christoffel draws up his will at notary Botercooper. In this will he appoints his children as heirs: Wolmoet, Harmen, Pieter and Christiaan. Harmen Esselman and Johannes Broos are appointed guardians.
› On 25 February 1798 another notarial deed is drawn up at notary Aage Volkerse in which Johannes Broos gives up his right as guardian due to his high age and bad health condition. He is replaced by Adolf Meijer (family ties between Adolf and Christoffel have not been found yet).
› In February 1798, after Christoffel’s death, a notarial deed is drawn up at notary Aage Volkerse. As heirs are stated: his children Harmen, Christiaan and Pieter, and his grandchildren Hendrik, Adam and Jan Veltman (children of his meanwhile deceased daughter Wolmertje).
